Do you ever find yourself contemplating the meaning of life? Do you find it difficult to rest or to decide at times? Are you looking for a deeper understanding?
As we navigate life, we tend to suppress emotions, memories, and experiences from our past. However, healing cannot occur when we don't allow them to surface.
Just as we learn to care for our bodies, we must learn to care for our minds.
Our thoughts have a significant impact on our emotions. Our perception and interpretation of events affect how we feel. Positive thoughts can generate positive emotions, while negative ones can cause sadness, anxiety, or anger.
We can improve our emotional well-being and create a more positive and fulfilling life by becoming more aware of our thoughts and intentionally choosing positive and empowering ones.
Achieving inner peace and self-discovery can be done through various practices such as meditation, Yoga, Yoga Nidra, Pranayama, and other mindful activities. Engaging in creative activities, such as the arts, can also provide a profound way to explore oneself.
Let me share one personal story about the "suppression of my calling":
As a child, I had a strong interest in art. Still, my circumstances prevented me from fully exploring my creativity.
However, after many years of denying myself my artistic side, I realized that this made my Inner-Child frustrated and unhappy.
Discovering my inner world, embracing my unique talents, and creating for myself were suddenly more important than perfection or formal training.
I began painting three years ago and have by now over twenty pieces. I cringe every time I see my first paintings, but more important; I see progress in each one. Each painting revealed another story about myself. It showed me another way of applying colors in my life.
Besides that, I discovered that painting offers a way to reach a peaceful and contemplative state of mind. This activity allows me to focus on the creative process and forget about the outside world, providing a sense of calm and inner tranquility, just like meditation.
Painting allows me to delve into the depths of my emotions and interpret them through a visual medium. Witnessing the metamorphosis of a blank canvas into a beautiful masterpiece fills me with joy.
Art, like yoga, became a platform to express my true self and showcase my particular point of view.
The way I see things, our purpose as humans is to dive into the depths of self-discovery and share our authentic selves with the world. When we align with our higher purpose, everything falls into place, and we find peace and fulfillment.
As you journey through life, listen closely to your Higher Self.
Remember, just as I discovered my passion for painting after years of suppression, you can unearth your hidden talents and true potential.
Embrace your unique journey of self-discovery, share your authentic self with the world, and find alignment with your higher purpose. May you continue to shine and grow on this beautiful path of self-exploration.
Namaste!
Dora :)
